Middle-aged man killed in tusker attack

ILAM, August 26: A middle-aged man reportedly died in an elephant attack Thursday night at Morange Jhoda area of Chulachuli rural municipality - 2 of Ilam.

The deceased has been identified as 63 - year - old Dhan Bahadur Shrestha, District Police Office, Ilam stated.

The elephant attacked when Shrestha was sleeping in the verandah of his house. The elephant took hold of Shrestha by its trunk and carried him 200 metres away from his residence and killed him. The elephant was later chased into the jungle by the locals, police said. His body has been taken to Morang for a post - mortem examination.
