The three-day ´Microfinance Conference Nepal-2013´ is aimed at enhancing the feeling of responsibility among microfinance companies and reviewing fresh problems and opportunities in the sector.[break]
Different stakeholders of the microfinance sector will congregate to chart out plans of action and strategies to expand people´s access to microfinance service and resolve problems facing microfinance institutions.
Harihar Dev Pant, chairman of Nirdhan Utthan Bank, informed the press conference on Friday that over 800 participants including policymakers, bankers, financial intermediaries, and savings and credit cooperatives will take part in the conference.
On the occasion, participants will be informed about the role of microfinance sector for the development of education, health and environment, among others. The conference will also review the rules and regulations that microfinance sector has to abide, problems seen in microfinance sector as well as conditions of savings and credit cooperatives in the country. A ´microfinance declaration´ will be issued at the end of the conference.
