With the opening of the water supply from the treatment plant, distribution has commenced from various branches of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL).

Following discussions with local residents, Minister Yadav said that water distribution will continue until next monsoon, and the needs of the locals will be addressed after Dashain.

Water diversion was halted due to damage caused to the Melamchi Water Supply Project’s source during last year's monsoon. This year, the diversion has started ahead of Dashain.
