KATHMANDU, June 13: Frequent disruption in power supply system of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has occurred due to poor precaution taken while installing pipelines in the ongoing system distribution of the Melamchi Drinking Water Project.
NEA's Spokesperson Prabal Adhikari said that electricity supply was disrupted on Monday and Tuesday while planting water pipes in dozens of areas in the Kathmandu valley. "We are sorry for power supply disruption caused due to ongoing construction works of Melamchi Drinking Water Project. Frequent power supply disruption due to human error was unfortunate," Adhikari said.
Adhikari added that electricity supply was disturbed as the underground cable of NEA was damaged in the Baneshwor Feeder of the NEA while the workers were working at 10:00 pm.
Meanwhile, Adhikari has urged the Melamchi Drinking Water Project to work by establishing coordination with the NEA's distribution centre or concerned branch prior to working in the NEA's system areas. RSS
