The class A full service bank got operating license on July 20 after the completing all regulatory requirements of Nepal Rastra Bank.[break]
After two-and-a- half years of working for establishing the bank, the idea has finally materialized with the help of 1219 promoters.
“The promoters of our Bank are not limited to a single foreign institution or a few large urban investors. Mega promoters are spread from the most rural of districts to urban centers right across the nation, therefore for us the need for economic inclusion is not just a thought, but a reality of daily life,” stated Anil Shah, the chief executive officer of the bank in a press statement.
The bank is planning to deliver a five star banking service and has stated its objective to become a banker for every Nepali.
“For us success is measured not only in rupees and paisa, but in the number of smiles we are able to earn every day,” said Shah.
Mega Bank has set values of being service centric, transformational, action-oriented, result-focused and synergistic. The bank has plans to open 10 branches in the first year and 50 branches over the next five years.
