The students staged protests in front of the office of the Medical Education Commission, Sanothimi and Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu.
The students have continued with their protests as the government failed to address their concerns even as the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Health directed the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to immediately resolve the problem of students who haven’t been able to go back to China to continue their studies.
The agitating students have demanded the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to amend the notice issued earlier to address their concerns. According to the students, there are three batches of students ----2014,2015 and 2016-- enrolled in medicine programs in China who are now eligible for internship. While the students from the batch of 2014 have already begun their internship, the students of two other batches are denied the same opportunity to fulfill the internship requirement of the study.
While the necessary arrangements have been done for the students from the batch of 2014 for their internship, the students of two other batches are denied the same opportunity to fulfill the internship requirement of the study.
