KATHMANDU, June 21: Goal from the teenage star Mbappe sealed the victory for France against Peru.


France started the game with high intensity, with Mbappe leading the attack from right wing. With Giroud up front, Griezmann played a little deep. In the 11th minute of the game, Griezmann shot the ball from a tight angle, wide of the post. A minute later, Pogba curled the ball from 25 yards towards the bottom corner, but the ball drifts wide of the target. 


Varane missed a chance from the corner when he headed the ball far side of the post in the 14th minute.

Peru's Gallese stopped the loosely hit ball by Griezmann. In the 34th minute, France broke the dead-lock when Mbappe scored the throughball latched onto him by Griezmann. 


Peru's first real chance of the game came in the 31st  minute but, French Keeper Loris saved the shot hit by Guerrero.


Farfan and Umtiti collided in the air and Umtiti recieved a knee injury in the early seconds of the second half. 


Farfan hit the ball outside of the far post after a good attacking move with Aquino, and behind for a goal kick. 


Peru displayed their attacking strengths since the start of the second half. Advincula cut in from the right flank and crossed into the box, but Umtiti cleared the danger in the 61st minute.


A minute later, Carillo's shot sailed over the bar. In the 74th minute, Farfan side netted the ball crossed from the right corner of the box.  And the Peru's half chances could not be converted to eqaulise the score.
