POKHARA, July 29: The meeting of all six metropolitan chiefs, deputy chiefs and administrative officers has started in Pokhara. 

Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City Dhanraj Acharya welcomed the heads and deputy heads and administrative officers of five major cities at the Barahi Hotel in Pokhara.

After the reception, the team with the heads of all the six metropolises left for Sarangkot for thematic discussion. The discussion of the heads of metropolises has been named 'Metro Meet Nepal'. Mayor and Deputy Mayors of Pokhara, Bharatpur, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Birgunj and Biratnagar metropolitan cities are attending the meeting.

Metropolitan Conference 2079 BS was organized for the first time in Nepal at the proposal of Mayor Acharya with the slogan of 'coordinated development and partnership for a prosperous metropolis'. The conference is set to conclude on Saturday. 

Pokhara Metropolitan City said that the conference will be concluded by issuing Pokhara Manifesto. Lalitpur Metropolitan City has taken responsibility to organize the upcoming conference. 

Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City Acharya said that the first requirement is to meet the minimum standards of the metropolis while playing a coordinating role with the federal and provincial governments.
