KATHMANDU, May 17: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has slammed the government for using electricity cuts to display its authority.
As power outages continued to trouble the capital, Shah took to Facebook to express his frustration. "Since the people didn't understand even when the whole country was sinking, the government has finally made them feel its power by cutting the electricity," he wrote.

He further mocked the authorities with a sarcastic remark: "Who dares to defy the government?"
Power outages have worsened in Kathmandu, particularly since Thursday, causing widespread public concern.
