CIB initiates search operation to arrest 90 poachers, issues Red Corner notice
The Central Investigation Bureau has initiated a search operation to arrest 90 poachers who still are at large. In coordination with the Wildlife Crime Control Unit of Chitwan National Park, the District Police Office, and Nepal Army will assist the CIB in its search. A Red Corner notice has also been issued against the fleeing accused. At least 176 rhinos were killed in the CNP by poachers/smugglers since 1995. If found guilty, a poacher can get five to 15 years of imprisonment and is fined Rs 500,000 to Rs 1.5 million or both, according to National Park and Wildlife Act.

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa highlighted urgent need to eliminate syndicate in all spheres to ensure good governance, economic growth and maintain peace and security in the country. Biplav cadres storm police escort in Dolpa, abscond with an arrested
Cadres of Biplav led rebel party attacked police personnel to free Sagar Shahi, member of Nepal Communist Party, Dolpa today. Ten cadres of the party led by Ajit Bista, district in-charge, hurled stones at the two escorting constables to abscond Shahi. Police have stepped up search to arrest the culprits.
Finance Minister assures of pro-socialist budget
The Finance Minister said the government would prepare budget that would help to implement federalism in the country. The Minister maintained that local governments would not be allowed to be dependent on the center’s budget and only enjoy rights.
28 Palestinians wounded 'by Israeli gunfire' ahead of opening of US Embassy in Jerusalem
At least 28 Palestinians were wounded during protests along the Gaza border today amid fears of escalating violence as America moved its embassy to Jerusalem. Protesters streamed to the frontier to join the demonstration despite Israel warning Gaza residents they would risk their lives if they tried to breach the border fence. Today’s embassy opening ceremony was brought forward to coincide with the state of Israel’s 70th anniversary.
