The Maoists led by Sunsari coordinator of the party Rajkumar Tamang, erected the party´s flag on the land and declared the capture. As per the local rate, the cost of the land is Rs 10 million per bigha.
The Maoists on their part have said that the land was captured as the Temple Management Committee gave land rights to only one of the four land tillers.
They maintained that all the tillers should be treated equally. They have also said that as per the order of the party´s central leadership, the land will be handed over to the local community on Thursday.
However, if the dispute is not amicably solved, the party will continue to hold it. Yadav said that the land has been seized so as to ensure that public land is not sold.
