KATHMANDU, April 3: Today marks 80 years of the maiden flight over Mt Everest. Two British pilots, namely David Fowler MacIntyre and Douglas Hamilton in April 3, 1933 became the first men to fly over the world’s tallest peak.

Hamilton’s grandson Charles is currently in Kathmandu to celebrate his grandfather’s feat at the invitation of Yeti Airlines. Hamilton along with a team of national and international media persons embarked on a Yati Airlines mountain flight over Everest on Wednesday morning. [break]

Captain Bodhraj Niraula, Co-pilot Kiran Man Pradhan and Airhostess Hasina Shrestha were the crew members of the Yeti Airlines’ Jetstream 47 aircraft that flew round over the tallest peak during the one-and-a-half-hour flight.
