KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Madhu Kumar Marasini has been appointed as the chairman Nepal Bank Limited (NBL).
According to the NBL, a meeting of the bank’s board of directors on Monday appointed Marasini to the position that remained vacant for two weeks after immediate past chairman Basudev Adhikari resigned on February 8. Adhikari quitted the post expressing his dissatisfaction over ‘the government’s intervention’ in the bank’s decision to provide dividends to the bank’s shareholders.
Marasini had served as a joint-secretary at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and also worked as the Financial Comptroller General of the government. Last week, the MoF appointed Marasini as a board member of the NBL.
