KATHMANDU, March 29: Unified CPN (Maoist) and CPN-UML on Monday agreed to find a package agreement for ending ongoing political deadlock.

In a meeting held at the UML’s parliamentary party office, the two left parties agreed to strike a deal with agreements on national government, rehabilitation and integration of the Maoist combatants, formation of commission for state restructuring and writing the constitution.[break]

“Maoists showed flexibility in today’s meeting,” Bharat Mohan Adhikari, a member of UML standing committee said. “But, they have not put on the concrete concept.”

Adhikari said UML would hold a meeting with Nepali Congress (NC) on Tuesday and the three main parties would sit together to find the modality of the agreement.

According to participants of the meeting, Maoists seemed flexible on their state restructuring model. “Their flexibility is a good indication,” Adhikari added.

In the meeting, UML reminded Maoists to dissolve Young Communist League (YCL), return captured properties and end attacks on cadres of other political parties. “If they agree, government is not a big deal,” Adhikari said.
