All the 23 political parties, except Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML, had been invited in the meeting, but only 17 attended the meeting.
Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had briefed the parties about the three-point pact signed among the three largest political parties on May 28.
"All political parties should play a positive role for the implementation of the agreement. The NC and UML have misinterpreted the agreement," Maoist Vice-chairman Narayankaji Shrestha quoted Dahal as saying during the meeting.
Maoists have stated that the prime minister should step down within five days from the CA extension date as per the agreement, but the ruling parties say the government would not quit until Maoists agree on the issues related to the peace process including the integration and rehabilitation of the Maoist combatants.
"The country will slide into anarchy if the agreement is misinterpreted," Dahal told the small parties. According to Pari Thapa, CA member from the CPN (United), some small coalition partners told the Maoist chairman that they would pull out of the government if there is no consensus.
However, some parties stated that the problem has surfaced as only the three largest political parties inked the deal, ignoring the small parties. They also told the Maoists not to repeat such mistakes.
