BARHABISE (SINDHUPALCHOWK), Dec 3: President of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Pashupati Sumsher Rana on Saturday claimed that UCPN (Maoist) was guilty of institutional corruption for taking money in the name of PLA deserters.

Inaugurating the regional convention of RPP at Barhabise, Rana said, “Maoist party engaged in institutional corruption by taking money from government fund in the name of 2,600 combatants who didn´t exist in the cantonments.” [break]

Demanding punishment for the party, Rana said that the Special Committee should probe into the case.

As per the latest verification by United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN), there were a total of 19,602 Maoist combatants in the seven main and 21 satellite cantonments.

Stating that the decision of the Supreme Court to extend the tenure of Constituent Assembly (CA) for six months one last time was appreciable, he urged all the political parties to respect the decision.

Criticizing the government led by Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Rana said, “Bhattarai couldn´t deliver on his promises of promulgating new constitution, concluding peace process and maintaining austerity and good governance during his four-month tenure.”

Rana argued that the peace and security situation worsened, inflation increased, corruption flourished and economy declined during Bhattarai´s governance.
