The cadres led by the party’s ‘area secretary’ Dukhi Yadav distributed five katthas each to 208 families.
Bhattarai, who was displaced from the district in 1998 after the Maoists captured his land, lives in Kathmandu.
Dukhi Yadav said his party distributed the land to the poor after the owner started selling the land worth Rs 50,000 a kattha at Rs 5,000 a kattha.
The families that were given the land have started plantation in the land for the first time in a decade.
