Mohan Baduwal and Dhir Bahadur Shahi were injured in the attack.
Surkhet District Secretary Gagan Singh Sunar informed that the Maoists tried to disrupt a program organized by the UML village committee on Wednesday afternoon. The irate Maoist cadres even vandalized furniture and shouted slogans against the UML. However, the program was organized amid a tight security.
The UML cadres were attacked after the police returned.
