KATHMANDU: The Maoist Victim National Struggle Committee (MVNSC) blocked traffic at Gaushala area in the capital for two hours beginning 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Traffic in Tilganga, Gaushala, Jayabageshwori and Chabahil areas was completely thrown out of gear. The organizers said the chakka jam was staged to pressurize the Maoist-led government to meet their 15-point demand.

Among others, the demand includes making public the whereabouts of the people forcibly disappeared by the Maoists during their insurgency, returning properties seized by the then rebels and punishing those involved in excesses in the past.
