Maoist, UML agree on commissions, to decide on AISC head

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Top leaders of the CPN (Maoist) and CPN-(UML agreed on Sunday to give full shape to the National Planning Commission, Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Public Service Commission, Office of the Auditor General and Land Reform Commission.



However, the two parties who held talks at the official residence of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at Baluwatar here could not reach agreement on who should head the Army Integration Special Committee, according to UML General Secretary Jhala Nath Khanal. [break] "We will again sit and talk to finalize the issue of AISC Coordinator," Khanal told myrepublica.com after emerging from the talks.



CPN (Maoist), CPN-UML and Nepali Congress and Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) had earlier agreed to have two representatives each from the four parties.



Prime Minister Dahal and Finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai participated in the talks from CPN (Maoist) while Khanal and former UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal among other top leaders represented the UML. The talks was a follow-up meeting of the one held at Godavari Village Resort in Lalitpur on Saturday.
