The 30-year-old, who originally hails from Ilam, was reportedly abducted from Koteshwar at around 6pm on February 8 while he was returning from Kirtipur after attending a training program.

MPCD claimed that the kidnappers left Sapkota at a restaurant after they felt constant pressure due to heightened police movements.

“The statements given by the victim are not consistent because he is in trauma or maybe still under threats,” said an investigative official. “It might take a few days for the crucial details to come out.”
