Maoist to propose timely constitution

KATHMANDU, April 21: The Unified CPN (Maoist) has decided to propose the new constitution within the deadline at Wednesday’s scheduled meeting of the High Level Political Mechanism (HLPM).



The party’s standing committee meeting on Wednesday made a decision in this regard.[break]



The CPN-UML has already decided to propose extension of terms for the Constituent Assembly while the Nepali Congress’ central working committee is meeting on Wednesday to decide on this.



Meanwhile, Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal met with newly appointed US ambassador Scott H DeLisi on Wednesday morning.



He told the standing committee that DeLisi assured him that the process for removing Maoist from the US list of terrorist is on adding that US has been positive towards them.



It was learned that DeLisi expressed concerns over the Maoists agitation program and trainings for the ‘final battle’.
