KATHMANDU, May 27: A secretariat meeting of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) held on Wednesday to set agenda for its politburo meeting ended with a decision to sit again on Thursday morning.

Talking to reporters after the meeting held at the party´s headquarters at Buddhanagar in the capital, the party´s spokesperson Dina Nath Sharma said the meeting held discussion on governance and state structures in new set up. "The meeting discussed about the role of the party in drafting pro-people constitution," he said. On Thursday, the party will decide the programs of street protest and agenda for discussion in politburo meeting.

The meeting on Wednesday was focused on determining party´s agenda in the politburo meeting in view of street protests launched to correct the "unconstitutional" move taken by President of Dr Ram Baran Yadav over the army chief´s dismissal.

Sharma said the meeting decided to play pro-active role to draft pro-people constitution. "We did not enter into any other issues for discussion."

During the meeting, the leaders expressed their views about governance structures and state structures, drawing their personal experience and references from various countries in the world.
