Maoist party won't split: Poudel

POKHARA, Sept 25: The prime minister´s chief political advisor and politburo member of the ruling UCPN (Maoist), Devendra Paduel, has said that the Maoist party will not split despite ideological differences among leaders in the party.



Talking to journalists in Pokhara today, Paudel said party central committee meeting would settle down all the contentious issues. [break]



He made it clear that the four-point agreement was signed to bring the Madhes-based parties in the Bhattarai-led government and added that this agreement was not signed under international pressure.



Paudel further said that the peace process could not move ahead due to the stance of the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) though the prime minister was willing to take the peace process to a logical end.
