According to SP Navaraj Bhatta, the chief of District Police Office, Baglung, Lalu has been absconding along with six others as they were charged with burgling the house of one Nara Bahadur Gurung in Babiyachaur-3.[break]
“We have been hunting for them after those arrested in connection with the burglary gave statements incriminating Kisan and the six,” he said.
A group led by Kamal Karki, who is known to be Kisan´s bodyguard, had barged into Gurung’s house and made off with cash and gold worth over Rs 500,000 two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, Kisan, talking to Republica on the phone, said the charge against him was merely a scheme to defame him and that he was not absconding either.
