KATHMANDU, Oct 26: The CPN (Maoist Center) is all set to hold a warning assembly on Saturday in Kathmandu, against the government’s wrong decisions and to draw attention to the work that needs to be done. It has been announced that former Prime Minister and party’s chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will lead the procession of the rally. This is the first time that the party will be hitting the streets with protest, following its ousting from power after Nepali Congress and CPN-UML formed the current government.
The leaders and cadres of the party have been instructed to gather at Kathmandu Mall at 11 am today. From there, the procession will be led by Chairman Dahal and other officials, featuring traditional music and banners. The march will proceed through Bhadrakali and Shahid Gate before converging at Kathmandu Mall.

According to a source, the procession will turn into a warning assembly at Bhrikuti Mandap at 12:30 pm, proceeding through Bagbazar and Exhibition Road. All preparations, including flags and vehicles, have been completed. The program will conclude in about two hours. Only leaders and activists from within the valley will participate in the procession, with fewer participants expected from outside the valley. The assembly is expected to see participation of about 25,000 to 30,000 people.
The Maoist Center has stated that the warning assembly will address the government's insensitivity, irresponsibility, and lack of planning in disaster management. This includes issues related to searching for the missing, distributing relief, treating the injured, constructing temporary shelters, and challenges in reconstruction and rehabilitation. The assembly aims to counteract conspiracies and corrupt activities that have undermined the good governance campaign initiated by the party’s leadership in the last government.
The Maoist Center stated that the vigil meeting will also aim to draw the government's serious attention to issues of social justice, express support for good governance, social justice, and economic development and prosperity, protest against the political polarization and interference occurring in public institutions, including the Nepal Electricity Authority and educational institutions, and advocate for measures to control rising market prices and black marketing.
The Maoist Center stated that it has begun to raise its voice to address the issues faced by cooperative victims, interest rate victims, and microfinance victims. The party aims to expose the conspiracy behind the issuance of an ordinance related to the division of political parties, which seeks to push the country into a two-party authoritarian system. Additionally, the Maoist Centre intends to defend and promote national interests and raise awareness against the government's status quo and regressive activities.
