KATHMANDU, March 9: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has said that the NC had earlier advocated the endorsement of the US-aid project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) even when it was in the opposition.
Addressing a booth working committee formation ceremony held this morning in Kathmandu, he said that the party did so for the benefit of Nepal through MCC.

"The NC has been advocating the ratification of MCC even when the party was not in the government because the MCC projects are in Nepal's interest as the grants will support Nepal's economy and are designed to suit Nepal's needs," Singh said.
"Those who spread false propaganda about the MCC have created the illusion that Nepal has become a part of the Indo-Pacific Strategy," Singh said. "Nepal's foreign policy is based on a non-aligned policy. We have not given up on this.
Leader Singh instructed all the leaders and cadres of the party to go to the houses of the people and explain the reality and encourage them to help NC win the elections by voting.
