KATHMANDU, Dec19: Miss Nepal Universe 2018 Manita Devokta ended her journey at top 10 in the 67th Miss Universe 2018 organized in Bangkok on December 17.
Devkota who hails from Gorkha is the second to represent Nepal in Miss Universe after Nagma Shrestha. Likewise, she is the first Nepali to reach the top ten of Miss Universe.

Her presentation on the national costume was the highlight of her Miss Universe journey. She flaunted eye-appealing grey attire adorned with sparkling white embroidery dress. Ten hands were artistically attached to her attire. She represented Goddess Avalokitesvara. About her ambition, she said she wants to become a lawmaker to make sure those women issues are heard and addressed properly in Nepal.
Posting on her official Instagram account, 23-year-old Manita shared, “Good morning from Thailand slept so good, I can’t believe @missuniverse 2018 comes to an end. It was short and sweet. Congratulations to @catriona_gray for becoming the new Miss Universe, a super deserving candidate. It seems like in 2018 all I did was prepare for MU. I’m so excited to come back to Nepal and explore our beautiful country and its people. I feel happy. See you soon Nepal.”
She completed her degree in Public Health from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She was crowned Miss Universe Nepal on April 11, 2018.
