Manchester United are set to trigger Neymar’s £140million release clause to sign him from Barcelona, according to reports.

United were sniffing around Neymar in the summer as they chased a marquee signing to complete Louis van Gaal’s squad.

He eventually stayed put, but the Daily Star quotes French sources in saying United are ready to meet Neymar’s £140m release clause to sign him.

The outlet says the move won’t happen until the summer and United have been alerted only because talks over a new contract have stalled with Barca.

United will offer Neymar huge wages in order to get him to join the club.
