Bhim Lal Oli, 42, of Nuwakot-8 in Rukum, who was a mental patient, had fled the village after killing his wife Pavitra. His body was found in Nuwakot VDC-5 on Wednesday. [break]
The man had attacked his three children -- daughter Bimala, 16, son Tulashiram, 15 and Prem Bahadur, 10 -- who were sleeping in another room with a khukuri after slitting his wife´s throat. All his children were critically injured in the attack.
A Nepal Army helicopter had airlifted the wounded children to Kathmandu for treatment. According to DSP, Rajendra Prasad Bhatta, said, “We have found Oli´s body but we are yet to ascertain if he committed suicide or was murdered,” said Bhatta.
Oli´s body has been sent to District Hospital in Salle for autopsy. According to preliminary investigation, Oli was a mental patient and had returned home after treatment a week ago.
