Man kills wife over household dispute

CHITWAN, March 3: A person killed his wife at Bharatupur in Chitwan district on Sunday morning.



Mohan Singh BK, living in a rented house at Bharatpur Municipality- 13, allegedly killed his wife Maya BK following a dispute over household affairs.[break]



According to locals, Mohan flogged his wife Maya with a wooden club on her head and she died on the spot.



The accused is absconding after the incident. Police Inspector Tanka Bhattrai informed that the police have already launched a hunt for the suspect.



Locals said that the BK couple had been always bickering with each other over the household affairs even though they were married for over a decade. “We tried to reconcile for several times but their dispute didn´t decrease.” said Surya Mani Lamsal, a local.



The BK couple had been living separately following frequent dispute between them. Maya had been working as a domestic worker to support her children, informed Lamsal.



He had already made an unsuccessful attempt to kill his wife in the past, said Yam Lal Tiwari, the owner of the rented house, adding, he brutally hit Maya over her head inside their room and fled after locking her in the room.”



Mohan, who originally hails from Kotathar VDC in Nawalparasi district, was working in a factory at Bharatpur. He had been living in the rented room with his wife Maya, a son and two daughters.



Likewise, neighbors of Mohan also said that he used to beat Maya over a minor issue.



Meanwhile, Moti Lal BK of Beni VDC- 4 in Solukhumbu district murdered his wife Manju BK by hitting with a sharp weapon on Sunday, reported police.



The police informed that Moti Lal murdered his 19-years-old wife at a time when there was no one in the house. “He killed his wife following dispute over household stuffs,” said DSP Sudhan Singh Basnet at the Solukhumbu District Police Office.



The dead body of Manju has been taken to district hospital at the District Hospital of the district.



Moti Lal has fled from the scene after killing his wife. According to DSP Basnet, the police is looking for the criminal.
