Man kills daughter

SUNDARIJAL, Sept 9: A cruel father here has killed his daughter by pushing her into the river. Though he tried to kill both his daughters, the elder one was rescued alive.



The cruel father has been identified as 32-year-old Debraj Pudasaini. He took his daughters Devyani (6) and Divya (4) for a bath to the Sundarijal reservoir. However, upon reaching there he pushed both of them into the reservoir of the Sundarijal river and went to in-laws´ place at Kavresthali.



Upon hearing the cries of the girls for help, Biyog Lama of Sindhupalchowk informed the police. Though they managed to rescue Devyani, police could not find Divya, who is believed to have died. Devyani suffered fracture in the hand.



Police inspector Basanta Dahal said police have arrested Pudasaini. He told the police the daughters slipped and fell into the reservoir. Locals said Pudasaini was partially mad.
