NAWALPARASI, Oct 18: A man was killed in a tiger attack in Nawalparasi East on Friday morning.
According to the District Police Office (DPO) the deceased has been identified as Jeeva Bahadur Thing, 63, of Laxmitandi, Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-1. He was attacked by the big cat at 11:10 am on Friday while cutting grass in the forest.
Human-Tiger Coexistence Amidst Rising Tiger Population
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) JC Shah at the DPO, informed Republica that Thing came under the tiger's attack when he had gone to mow grass in the Tinchuli buffer zone community forest.
DSP Shah said Thing was found dead when a search was mounted for him after getting the information that he came under tiger attack while going for cutting grass with neighbors. The body has been taken to the Madhyabindu District Hospital Danda for a post-mortem examination.
