SUNSARI, Dec 14: A man was killed in an elephant attack in Sunsari on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Pramod Yadav, a local resident of Shreepurjabdi area of Koshi Rural Municipality-7.
The elephant attacked Yadav when he was working at his farm. The man died on the spot, according to the District Police Office.
A team of officials comprising the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve employees, Nepal Army personnel and the Nepal Police personnel has reached the site for further action.
Locals have demanded effective measures to save people from the attacks of wild animals which are frequent in the locality. Different sorts of wild animals mainly elephants, wild buffaloes and wild boars from the reserve enter the settlement and go on rampage attacking locals and destroying crops.
