KATHMANDU, Nov 4: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Friday arrested a 20-year old man from Budhanilkantha-14 of Kapan, Kathmandu on the charge of illegal possession of a red panda hide.
The arrested has been identified as Nabin Rai of Takshindu VDC-1 of Solukhumbu district. Tipped off by a source, a police squad had arrested the man while he was trying to sell the hide for lucrative sum. However police said they do not have the details of the prospective buyer of the hide.

Till date, CIB alone has seized 40 red panda hides and arrested over 59 people involved in illegal possession of the hides, according to CIB officials.
If proven guilty, the arrested would be fined between Rs 25,000 and 40,000 or 1-10 years of imprisonment or both.
