KATHMANDU, Jan 16: A man from Lamjung, who joined the Russian army, has died.
Ward Chairman Durgaman Gurung said that Sajan Gurung, 32, of Dudh Pokhari Rural Municipality-1, Ghamar Chowk in the district was killed in the Russia-Ukraine war.

According to him, the news of the death of Gurung, who joined the Russian army, was received only five days ago. His friends, who joined the Russian army along with the deceased Gurung, sent the news to his brother Kumar Gurung.
Gurung had joined the Russian army three and a half months ago for employment. He is survived by his father, mother, wife and a son in his house.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has so far confirmed the death of 11 Nepali nationals who joined the Russian army. At least four Nepali nationals are held as Prisoner of War (PoW) by Ukraine.
