Man arrested over Rs 1.4m foreign employment scam

KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Police have arrested a man for allegedly defrauding a victim by promising foreign employment in New Zealand.



The accused, 45-year-old Purushottam Bhandari from Bhimeshwar Municipality–8, Dolakha, reportedly took Rs 1.4 million from the victim and went out of contact.

Bhandari was arrested on Tuesday by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office. He has been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation.
