Mukesh Mahato,30, a resident of Chireswar municipality-9 of Dhanusha was arrested this morning on the charge of committing polygamy, according to DSP Lokendra Shrestha at the District Police Office Mahottari. He was arrested along with his new bride from the latter's home in Gaushala-4, Mahottari. They had tied the knot on June 15.
The newly-wed couple was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by Mahato's first wife Sanju Devi, whom he had married three years ago. She had filed the complaint on Wednesday.
Preparations are underway to file a case of polygamy against Mukesh and his new wife, police said. RSS
