PARBAT, April 6: The Maldhunga-Beni road section that connects Mustang and Myagdi districts with the national highway will be closed for five hours a day from April 16 to May 8.
The decision was taken by the stakeholders concerned in a meeting convened at the District Administration Office, Parbat, today to give impetus to the construction of the Maldhunga-Beni road section.
The meeting chaired by Chief District Officer of Parbat, Narayan Prasad Sapkota decided to close the road section from 11AM to 4PM. The construction company, Apex-Khadka Krishna JV requested the DAO for time and traffic management on the road section after the expansion of the road section was affected due to continuous traffic movement.

Currently, a 13-km road section is being upgraded and blacktopped. The administration offices in the neighboring districts have been apprised of the decision for facilitation and cooperation.
Ambulances and vehicles carrying development works related materials will be facilitated to ply the road section during the closure of the road section, it was shared.
The Baglung-Ratnechaur- Beni, an alternative route leading to Maldhunga, can be used as long as the Maldhunga-Beni road is closed, officials said. Manager of Omkareshwor, the sub-contractor of Apex-Khadka Krishna JV, Amrit Dahal shared that they are trying to expedite the repairing of the road by closing it for vehicles for a certain time everyday.
The Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project said the 13-kilometer Maldhunga-Bani section has been closed in order to expand and upgrade it into a two-lane roadway. This section of the road is a part of the Kaligandaki Corridor Highway, the shortest roadway in Nepal connecting China and India.
