KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal has directed Guthi Corporation to make sure that the lands under the purview of the corporation are well-maintained.

Addressing the 56th founding anniversary of the Guthi Corporation in the capital on Sunday, the minister accused its leadership of failing to keep the record of all lands belonging to the corporation in a fair and transparent manner.

"It is sad to learn that there is no record of the lands belonging to the Guthi Corporation which are big assets of the people," she grumbled.

The minister also urged the leadership of the Guthi Corporation to bring out the truth to the people regarding the status of public land belonging to the corporation.

She expressed dismay over the growing encroachment of public lands belonging to Guthi Corporation. She called for preserving the public lands belonging to Guthis (trusts) across the country.
