Senior leaders of Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), led by the party’s Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, reached the prime minister’s official residence at Baluwatar Monday morning to discuss over the issue.
The Khanal-led CPN-UML team is also scheduled to meet Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala later on Monday.
Meanwhile, the main opposition party NC has called an all-party meeting – excluding the largest ruling party Unified CPN (Maoist) – in its party office at Sanepa* Monday morning itself.
The Maoist party had decided to take action against the Nepal Army chief Rookmangud Katawal while the NC strongly opposed the decision. The second largest ruling CPN-UML has said the issue should be settled through consensus among Maoist, NC and UML, among other political parties.
