Maintenance of East-West highway in Kanchanpur begins

KANCHANPUR, Dec 21: Maintenance of Kanchanpur-Kailali road section along the East-West Highway has begun.

The potholes and other damages seen on the road are being maintained through contract bidding.

Information Officer at the Road Division Office, Mahendranagar, Taranath Sigdel, shared repair works have made progress as the highway roads in Kailali and Kanchanpur have been divided into two parts.

According to Sigdel, maintenance of roads from Lamki to Attariya and from Kanla Bridge to Gaddachauki is taking place through bidding.

The maintenance work is being carried out in 80-km road stretch in Kailali and 20-km in Kanchanpur area. "The contract was awarded to complete road maintenance works in three months," he said, adding, "Mid-January is the deadline for the stipulated works".

A separate contract of Rs 70 million was signed for asphalt overlay along the 19-km stretch from Chisapani to Lamki.
