KATHMANDU, June 28: Two tennis players Mahika Rana and Ira Rawat were selected for the 'Road to Singapore' slated for October 19-25. Mahika and Ira booked their places for the competition after finishing first in the selection tournament held at the Satdobato Tennis Complex, Lalitpur, that concluded on Sunday.

The selection tournament began on Friday. Mahika came first in U-16, while Ira topped U-14 category. Mahika, who beat her own sister Mayanka in the last match on Sunday, defeated all three opponents in the U-16 section, while Ira also beat four opponents of her age group.
Ira ousted Khushi Pandey 8-3, Prerana Koirala 8-1 and Avilasha Bista 8-2 on the last day of the selection tournament.
