JANAKPUR, April 11: CPN-UML candidate for Dhanusha-5 constituency, Raghubir Mahaseth, has taken lead over his rival Sri Krishna Yadav of Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP).
Vote counting tally as of 2pm show Mahaseth has secured 11,012 votes against Yadav’s 10,944. The two candidates have been neck to neck since the counting began early Saturday morning.
Mahaseth appointed as Acting PM
Nepali Congress candidate Dr Chandra Mohan Yadav, son of President Dr Ram Baran Yadav who vacated the constituency after being elected the country’s head of state, is far behind other candidates with 5,618.
Mahadev Yadav of Unified CPN-Maoist has secured 1,604 and Siya Ram Yadav of Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (MPRF) just 602.
Final results are expected very soon.
