KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Mahabir Pun has been awarded for his special contribution to social empowerment of people with the innovation of wireless technology that eased information exchange in rural areas of the country.
The Excelsior School at Swayambhu, Kathmandu, honoured Pun with cash prize of Rs 50,000 amidst a programme on Friday. The prize was given also for the assistance to boost the National Innovation Centre set up by Pun. At the programme, Pun inspired school children to adopt technology for entrepreneurship and industry in future.

"How long do we produce skilled human resource for others? It's time to produce innovative persons for the country," he stressed.
School Chairperson Shital Rana and Principal Prashant Rajak expressed happiness over the opportunity the School got to honour innovator Pun and committed to extending assistance to his Innovation Centre in future as well.
