JANAKPURDHAM, Oct 4: The Madhesh Province Government has decided to contribute Rs 5.1 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund for the relief of citizens affected by floods and landslides.

Chief minister of Madhesh Province, Satish Kumar Singh, informed Republica that the decision was made during a meeting of the ruling coalition parties of Madhesh Province on Friday.

Chief Minister Singh said, "The disaster has caused significant human and material damage across the country, including the Kathmandu Valley. The ruling parties have decided to help due to the need for working together at the time of this disaster. Since this decision includes the participation of ministers, it should be understood as a decision of the Council of Ministers."

Earlier, the Madhesh Province Government had also decided to provide relief of Rs 100,000 to the families who lost their lives in the recent floods, landslides, and inundation.

Likewise, the coalition parties have established a committee to study, analyze, and evaluate political appointments to the institutions, mechanisms, and entities under the provincial government.

The committee is chaired by Upendra Mahato, the deputy leader of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal parliamentary party, and includes members such as Pramod Kumar Jaiswal (CPN-UML), the Minister for Sports and Social Welfare, Shesh Narayan Yadav (Nepali Congress), the Minister for Energy, Irrigation, and Drinking Water, and Sanjay Kumar Yadav, a provincial assembly member from the Janamat Party.

Chief Minister Singh stated that a committee has been formed to study the need and effectiveness of appointments, bringing together the coalition parties in response to accusations of unilateral appointments.
