KATHMANDU, April 16: The chief minister (CM) of Madhesh Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav, is going to seek a vote of confidence on Tuesday.
According to Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal of the provincial assembly, a meeting of the provincial assembly has been convened for this purpose at 1 PM today
Following recent changes in federal-level politics, the Nepali Congress withdrew its support from the provincial government, compelling CM Yadav to seek a vote of confidence.
This is the fourth instance during his 15-month tenure when CM Yadav is facing such a vote.
With 107 members in the provincial assembly, CM Yadav needs to secure the support of at least 54 lawmakers to maintain his position as the chief minister.
