BIRGUNJ, Dec 8: Former Speaker and Senior Advocate Daman Nath Dhungana blamed the government for allowing the current deadlock to stretch by wrongly interpreting the situation and problems of Madhes.
The current problems in Madhes needs to be addressed by holding dialogues immediately, said Dhungana during a discussion with local journalists in Birgunj on Tuesday. Terming the Madhes's problem as highly fluid, he warned that the youths may resort to armed revolution if the current peaceful uprising is delayed further.

Dhungana, Padam Ratna Tuladhar and Birendra Mishra, among others, spoke at the program. They said they would work to facilitate dialogues between the government and UDMF leaders once they return to Nepal from Delhi. As dialogue is the only means to resolve the Madhesi issues, wasting time in looking for alternatives will be of no use, according to civil society leader Tuladhar.
"Issues of human rights violations have come to a perplexing state due to nearly four-month-long protest by Madhesi parties," said civil society leader Birendra Mishra. The civil society leaders also discussed with local media persons about the current challenges in journalism and local political situation. They have held discussion with local Madhesi leaders, cadres, professionals and intellectuals during their visit to Birgunj.
