A delegation comprising the TMDP Chairman Mahantha Thakur, SP President Rajendra Mahato and MPRF leaders had reached Baluwatar at the invitation of Dahal.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, the Thakur said they asked prime minister to pave way to form a new government since he resigned on May 4.
"However, the prime minister asked us to support the Maoists to correct unconstitutional move taken by the president," he said.
Thakur said that they suggested prime minister to help resume the regular parliament so that they can test whether the move taken by president is constitutional. The Maoists have been disrupting the parliament right since Dahal resigned.
The TMDP and SP have already extended their support for the CPN-UML-led new coalition. The MPRF too gave a "positive" response to the UML´s plea for help on Tuesday.
Prior to this, Nepali Congress, the second largest party in the Constituent Assembly, had announced its support for the UML-led government.
The Madhesi parties asked the Maists to help resume parliament and make way clear for the formation of new government, said Maoist leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha. The prime minister said that Maoists cannot enter into the issue of forming new government unless the move of president is corrected."
