Pak World Trade and Expo Center is organizing the week-long expo in collaboration with Pakistani Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepalese Embassy in Islamabad, Rawalpindi Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Islamabad Chambers of Commerce and Industry.[break]
The main objective of the expo is to promote Pakistani products and provide a forum for interaction between businessmen of Nepal and Pakistan.
Wide range of Pakistani products ranging from wooden furniture to textile products, ladies´ dresses; leather bags, belts and footwear; jewelry; cosmetics and gemstones; handicrafts made of onyx, wooden and brass; and kitchenware and melamine products are on display at the weeklong expo.
The expo also has a food court offering wide range of Pakistani dishes. Similarly, a Pakistani cultural troupe will be performing live to entertain the visitors.
More than 80 Pakistani businessmen are participating in the expo, according to the Pak World Trade and Expo Centre.
Deputy Prime Minister Upendra Yadav inaugurated the expo amid a function Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said expos like this would help promote business linkage between entrepreneurs of two countries and also help increase bilateral trade.
Nepal imports products worth $1.1 million from Pakistan, while it exports products worth $4.01 *million to its South Asian neighbor.
